Bonnie Brae Refresh

This project has been a long time in the making. It first started with a redesign (blog post with before an after picture to come).  My clients are some of the busiest people I have ever met with very successful businesses and 3 boys with their own crazy schedules, they hadn't paid the attention that they wanted to their home in years! That's when I was hired to help give their gorgeous home a refresh.

FAMILY ROOM
When discussing the scope of the project, my clients expressed that their Family Room is the hub of their house. Being right off of the kitchen it is where the family spends the majority of there time together. It is where they gather to talk about their days, watch movies, wrestle (in the boys case) and entertain. With that being said, it had to be comfortable for all 5 of them and friends to sit  together,  while also maintaining a sophistication that the rest of their house has. With that in mind I used the 2 wing chairs my client found as inspiration for the color palette and overall symmetrical layout for the space.

The fireplace and TV was a very natural focal point for the space, which I loved to build the symmetry of the room around. By painting the area in a rich copper color on the fireplace it gave the space more depth and accentuates the great roof line and ceiling height.

I love painting ceilings. In this case, it draws your eye up to the height as well as adding another layer to the design of the space.... think of your ceiling as a 5th wall.

MASTER BEDROOM
This was a really important space for my clients, because this was where they could get away from the crazy of life and relax. When I first visited the space, it was really in need of some TLC being that they had had the same bedroom furniture for over 20 years. With this in mind, we decided to start from scratch and give the space a whole new look. With a calm color palette of beige, gold, and navy blue paired with luxurious custom bedding and upholstery, the space offers a relaxing and calming retreat. Along with the color palette, the wonderful textiles of the custom winged upholstered bed, chairs for a reading area, and fabulous new lighting fixtures, the room has a sophistication that is perfect for the couple.

Tell us what you think. Could you live in these spaces?
